What will it take?…
There are now 9 teams fighting for their playoff
lives. There are 5 spots that still remain, which means four
of these teams will go home to train for next year. Clearly
the pack at 8-4 has the best chance, but after week 12, we learned
to never count your eggs before they hatch. Just ask the Carolina
Muddogs. During this segment we will go team by team and highlight
what must happen for them to clinch a playoff spot. This analysis
is based on the other playoff contenders wining the rest of
their games.
Carolina Muddogs 8-4 (1229.85 pts)
Opponents: PT Riptides, That’s My Bitch,
The Muddogs must win at least one game extending their record
to 9-5 and then out score the Jagermeisters.
Your Daddy 8-4 (1193.50 pts)
Opponents: Leviathans, Culture Club
Must win at least one game and then outscore the Jagermeisters
by 33points over the next two games. If another 8-4 team should
fall then they need to simply outscore that team.
PT Bruisers 8-4 (1116.90 pts)
Opponents: Raleigh Lightening, HP Lampshades
Put simply, this team needs to win out to definitely secure
their spot. Follow me on this -
With 2 wins – must outscore the Onyx or the Jurocks
With 1 Win – another 8-4 team must lose and the Bruisers
must outscore them
With 0 wins – another 8-4 team must lose two games and
then they must outscore the other 8-4 losing team and then outscore
any 6-6 team that wins two games.
Confused yet?
Tempered Onyx 8-4 (1101.35 pts)
Opponents: HP Lampshades, Goo Crew
With 2 wins – must outscore the Jurocks or the PT Bruisers
With 1 Win – then the Bruisers or Jurocks must lose one
game and then the Onyx must outscore them. If an 8-4 team other
than the Jurocks or Bruisers should lose one game, then the
Onyx must win and score at least 150 points in each of their
final two games.
Jurocks 8-4 (1090.30 pts)
Opponents: Go Bills, Lone Rangers
This team needs to win out. Being 130 points behind the top
8-4 team and 135 points behind the Jagermeisters 7-5, they do
not want to have their playoff hopes to be decided upon point
totals. Should the Jurocks lose one game then they need another
8-4 team to lose one game and then outscore that team. If they
lose two games then they would probably not make it based on
point totals. The Best Bet – win each game big.
Jagermeisters 7-5 (1226.40 pts)
Opponents: Mad Max, The Inferno
This team needs to win both their games and then hope that one
of the 8-4 teams loses. Their best bet would be that the one
of the Your Daddy, PT Bruisers, Tempered Onyx, or Jurocks lose
one of their next games and then continue to outscore them.
If they were to lose one game, then they would need one of those
8-4 teams to lose two games, then score more points than that
team and finally more than any of the 6-6 teams vying for playoffs.
At 6-6 these teams are all in the same boat…
They must win all their games. Then hope that either the 7-5
Jagermeisters lose one game and an 8-4 team lose two of their
remaining games, or that two of the 8-4 teams lose two of their
games. In both situations the 6-6 team must then accumulate
more points than the other 8-6 teams.
Mtnears 6-6 (1226.60 pts)
Opponents: Barenjagers, PT Riptides
Above plus, they must outscore the Kryptonite.
Kryptonite 6-6 (1062.75 pts)
Opponents: Lone Rangers, Raleigh Lightening
Above plus, they must accumulate more points than that of the
winner of the Barenjager/Mtnear game.
Barenjagers 6-6 (1022.90 pts)
Opponents: Mtnears, Mad Max
Above, plus they must outscore the Kryptonite.
