Commentary

More tid-bits about the end of Week 7 & Coming into Week 8!

1. This week, the North averaged 86.6 points compared to the South's 89.

2. Even the top score of all time in the PTL by the PT Bruisers was not enough to gain on the South Division.. The South posted a total score of 8862.15, 533.05 points higher than the North's 8329.1.

3. The record between the two leagues in the Ghost Games is
North 16           -            South 16

4. The 9th place team in the Southern Division is still only 1 game away from first place.

5. A few of you guys mentioned that you'd like me to keep track of my record of picking the Ugly Games & Upsets of the week. I thought I'd keep a little journal here for you. And NO... don't consider my pick for you to win to be a curse!

Ugly Game of the Week
Upset Pick of the Week
6-6
8-4

6. 9 out of the possible 17 games the underdog beat the favored team.

7.
Congrats to the Bruisers! STILL The only undefeated team left in the PTL! If they should win in Week 8 they will tie the 03 Jurocks for the best win streak since the start of the season... This is one of the hardest records to break and it's looking like the Bruisers will not only break it, but surpass it for a few weeks to come. Can they become the first undefeated team in PTL history? You should also check out the Hall of Fame and see just how many records the Bruisers broke in week 7.... truely amazing team this year!

11. If you are looking to help here is what I need
A. Someone to look through the games each week and pull out the individual weekly award winners
B. Someone to take a look at the upcoming week's games and, if there is something interesting to note, do a write up
C. Someone to check to see if any Hall of Fame Records are broken each week
D. General articles about the PTL, interesting tidbits, fun stories.

THE TOP 4
1.
With win #7 in a row, and a score of 187.7.... They are still on the top... Undisputed leaders!
2.(+4)
Guess who's moved up? Despite a lack-luster schedule the Jurocks are proving to be the team to beat in the South. With an average score of 110, they are only 13 points behind the Bruisers in weekly averages.
3.(+1)
The Mtnears are flailing, but they are still a very good team. Keith will find a way to get that consistency back, and will most definitely be looking into the post-season.
4.(+3)
The Ranger's strength has come in their Ghost Games. With a record there of 3 and 1, combined with a 5 and 2 North record this team looks to have climbed out of the doll drums and back into the top tiers.
The Second Tier

5.
The Lightning's second loss in a row does give some some concern. But Pat is a good coach, and will find a way to replace their ineffective players. He has already hit the trading block trying to shore up a team that is ooh soo close to a top 4 team.
6.(-3)
Last week the Goo Crew looked like a good South Team. But much like the other teams this year they haven't been able to remain consistent. I think their divisional record has finally caught up to their (easier) Ghost Game record.
7(+3)
Total record of 6 and 3 is a pretty darn good thing as we come to the half-way point of the season. The Chup's are hanging on the edge of the playoff cliff, but with a fairly good remaining schedule they should be able to climb a few spots.
8(+10)
My big suprise of the week has to be the Muddogs. #3 in the South, with the #5 hardest schedule the Dogs are coming through in the end.
9(-7)
The extreme beating Pappy's Crew took in week 7 really pushed them down in this list. With a score barely into the 50's they are in desperate need of a bit of consistency in their scoring.
10.(-1)
The Rivalry game with the Jurocks lived up to its billing. But the loss in this game hurt the Meisters in the Uber-competitive South Division. Having the #2 hardest schedule will also hurt the drunken deer...
The Muddled Middle

11.(+8)
After their amazing win over the Jurocks, the Hanso FC pulled off another win on their bye-week.
12(-6)
Once again the Draft Strategy of the Bashers bit them in their pimpled behind. Dallas laid an egg on Monday Night as the Bashers lost yet again.
13.(+10)
Could it be that Mark's team is finally a contender? With one game over 500, he just might be moving up the ladder! and quickly!
14.
The Booty Bay Bashers drafted Dallas. The Dukes drafted McNabb & Stallworth. One is 6 and 4, the other is 6 and 5. Guess which is which?
15.(-4)
This team finally scored in the three digits.. For the second time this year!
16.
Once again the Lampshades have been looked over. Year upon year they have very good teams, but it seems like 2006 might be a rebuilding period in this franchise.
17.
How in the world could a top 2 team in the South actually drop a notch in the standings? It's the Culture Club people?!?
18(-6)
Once again the Ghost games have come back on a team. They have yet to win against the South, and that really hurts them overall.
19.(-6)
Many Northern teams are taking a hit in Week 7. The majority of this is due to hard schedules and losing records. The Kryptonite Crusaders are one game away from stopping their bad luck, but they have yet to find it.
20.
The Bigmaxers are the North's wildcard. They really could be a good team, but they can't seem to find the personell to make it so. With each loss, and each low scoring week, they keep falling and falling in my poll
21(-6)
Yahoo is dead-set against the Sabers being able to win games. With the adjustments being made to the kicker's points, the Sabers seem to be the only team to be affected negatively.
22.(-1)
I don't think too many people are worried about playing the Devils. They are only one loss away from being in the bottom 4, but have been able to stay above the South's Leviathan's by barely a thread.
The Bottom 4

23.(+1)
Doesn't that Green Guy look great? Too bad it's the only thing working for this team.
24.(+1)
One would think that the Leviathan's easier schedule would help them win a few games.... One would think. :)
25(-3)
We all want to cheer for the All-Clarance Team... But alas, the more the weeks pass by, the more it looks like nothing is going to happen.
26.
Nehmen sie Platz Herr Revolution!
