After a weak week from the South Division the North pumped up the point ampage to jump more than 11.1 points ahead. The North also is able to brag about two undefeated teams as the South still looks at three teams without a win. If you'd like to write for this page, please post in the league message board, or send it via email to svegter@bellsouth.net WEEK 4 Analysis
Raleigh Lightning vs. Carolina Mud Dogs
- As the 2003 PTL Champions continue their course towards the playoffs
they now meet up with the seeminly unstoppable Raleigh Lightning. But
there is a glitch in the Lightning game plan. Many of the players they
had been relying on are now in a bye-week. 4 of their most important
starters will not be playing this week, giving the Mud Dogs an important
edge. We still expect the game to be close, but the Mud Dogs should
come up on top. Expect the Lightning to continue their winning in week
5, just not in week 4 Tempered Onyx vs. The Culture Club -
Although the Onyx also has starters on a bye week, they are retaining
many of their most important scorers. The Culture Club has been struggling
to find a groove (mainly because Chicago is in the same boat), and will
not be able to stop the Onyx's winning streak, or stop their very own
winless streak. Onyx should be 4-0 after W4, and the Culture Club should
tie the PTL record of 4 losses in a row since the start of the season HP Lampshades vs. Goo Crew - in the classic
High Point match up these two rivals will put their all into this game.
The Goo Crew need the win to get back to .500, and the Lampshades are
looking to continue their winning streak. We expect the Lampshades to
be able to douse the Crew with some ampage and go into week 5 with yet
another win. And now the losers..... Week 3 still had 3 winless teams. Here is an update on their upcoming games That's My B*tch vs. PT Bruisers - On
paper this game looks like the PT Bruisers would be able to man-handle
the B*tches, but in the match up there are several problems that could
arise for the Green & Purple (Bruisers). If the Panthers do well,
so do the Bruisers, If the Chiefs do well, so do the B*tches. The Panthers
play the Packers on Monday night, and with the Pack 0-3 this season they
will be playing with all their might to finally win won. In our opinion,
so will the B*tches as they finally come up with a "W". PT Riptides vs. Kryptonite - Wow, you
couldn't ask for a closer game. With a spread between both teams of
only 2.1 points, it could go either way. So, we have to look at the
players on each team. The Riptides seem to have all player in, and off
bye-weeks. Unfortunately for them, however, is that several of their
defensive players have been kicked off their respective teams, leaving
them helpless in certain slots. The Kryptonite, on the other hand, has
all but one player playing giving them the ultimate edge. Watch for
the Riptides to continue their loss-streak heading into week 5. The Culture Club vs. Onyx - - Although
the Onyx also has starters on a bye week, they are retaining many of
their most important scorers. The Culture Club has been struggling to
find a groove (mainly because Chicago is in the same boat), and will
not be able to stop the Onyx's winning streak, or stop their very own
winless streak. Onyx should be 4-0 after W4, and the Culture Club should
tie the PTL record of 4 losses in a row since the start of the season |
Week 5
Tempered Onyx vs. Your Daddy - With only a 10 point spread this game could go either way. Both teams are plagued by bye-weeks and both teams are looking to fill over 4 spots on the roster. This game will really test the Onyx' depth. Looking back over the past four weeks of games, the Onyx would've lost to Your Daddy 3 out of 4 weeks. With Bye-week concerns and a bad history we look for the Onyx to be overtaken by the Daddies as they get a piggy-back ride to beatsville. HP Lampshades vs. Carolina Mud Dogs - Yet another incredible close game! Also look closely to see that this one game has two weekly awards attached to it. It is Gora's Smokin' Hot Game of the Week and Tobias' Cool Hand Luke Underdog of the Week. As with the Onyx game, if we look at history, the Mud Dogs would've beat the Lampshades 3 out of the 4 past weeks. This gives the dogs the ultimate edge as the second of two unbeatens breaks it's bulb. Now for the losers..... That's My B*tch vs. Kryptonite - Although the Kryptonite team is not the best team in the PTL, they have been able to keep a .500 average through out the first four weeks of the season. Unfortunately, the B*tches are being plagued by the bye-week curse as four open starter spots have opened on their team in week 5. Although Kryptonite might not be the hardest team, the B*tches won't be able to snap their streak. The Culture Club vs. Jagermeisters - Jagermeisters would've won over the Club the past 4 weeks. The Culture Club is a 42.17 Point Underdog. This is almost certain that the Jagermeisters will absolutely drink (and play) the Clubbers under the table. Point blank. Jagers win. PT Riptides vs. Jurocks - Once again the Riptides are facing a fairly tough challenge. Although not as easy to predict as the Jager game, the Riptides definitely have more of a chance to finally get that "W". As long as the Jurocks are able to score on offense, they should be able to devour the Riptides giving them a new spot on the PTL Hall of Fame Loser Board. A TALE OF TWO MANNINGS
It was the Eli and Peyton show this weekend in the PTL, with Leviathans
fans watching with baited breath for the outcome of the contest. The
Jagermeisters entered the weekend as 32-point favorites. The Manning
brothers didn't disappoint, either. It seems Eli has at last found his
niche in the pros, earning an impressive 38.45 fantasy points (only
2.15 fewer than his elder brother). The two helped keep the contest
close. The Leviathans were also aided by another exceptional performance
from LaDainian Tomlinson at running back. L.T. amassed 134 yards rushing
and two touchdowns on 25 carries, earning him a second consecutive week
as PTL's leader in that position. Not too shabby! Of course, the PTL
contest came down to the wire with Monday night's Panthers-Packers brawl.
A strong first half from the Panthers seemed to favor the Leviathans,
but a Packers comeback in the second, helped the Jagermeisters. In the
end, the Panthers element in the Leviathans' roster put the coveted
"W" in the boys in green's column. The Jagermeisters fall to 2-2 on
the season, while the upstart Leviathans improve to 3-1. If the future
is any indication, expect good things from the combination of Eli Manning
and LaDainian Tomlinson in the Leviathan lineup. The Leviathans' next
target is the Barenjagers, who, at 2-2, are favored to win next week's
contest. The main reason? Giants' bye week. We could always pray for
Drew Brees to get hurt . . .
